This nougat shop is clearly a favorite among Korean tourists. Initially, the staff treated me with the same enthusiasm they show to tourists, but their attitude changed abruptly to something as cold as winter frost when I mentioned using a carrier for an e-invoice.
As for the nougat, the scallion flavor is the shop’s signature item. It has a strong scallion aroma, like a scallion storm in your mouth. If, like me, you’re not a fan of scallion flavor, every bite might feel like a test for your taste buds. The base of the nougat is a soda cracker, which is a bit greasy, but the filling is smooth and not sticky, with a sweetness level that might be just right for those who love sweets but is a bit too high for someone like me who prefers less sweetness.
The plain round nougat, on the other hand, is milder without the scallion punch and has a lighter texture. The filling is a bit sparse, which makes the overall treat less greasy and more to my liking. However, the sweetness level remains high, so even though it’s less intense than the scallion version, it’s still a bit too sweet for my taste.
In summary, this shop’s nougat has its unique features, but if you’re not keen on scallion or prefer less sugary snacks, it might not be the best choice for you. And regardless of whether you’re a tourist or a local, it’s always a good idea to request an invoice to...
Read moreHeard that it is the best nougat crackers in Taiwan. Exaggerate? Open at 9am close at 9.30am according what google map shown. I went here yesterday at 10.30am, the gate was half closed, I saw people were still working inside, I think i will only buy with luck. But this early morning after gym, I just decided to give it a try. I arrived there at aboit 7.30am and there were about 50 people queuing. It was drizzling, and when about 8.30am, I think there were about more than 70 people behind of me. Mostly Korean, then Taiwanese and others. I finally bought Round Nougat Crackers and Spring Onion Nougat Crackers, the price is reasonable even though it is so famous and long waiting. I immediately give it a try while back in hotel. OMG, it is so good! Not too sweet but just nice. Both are nice. It is so addictive, no joke. But I personally prefer the Round Nougat Crackers as I am not a fan of spring onion, those who like spring onion crackers definitely will love this as the taste is quite intense of spring onion with the touch of salty sweet and savory flavor. Worth the queue? I will raise my both hands and say yes, for the quality and the price.
P.S I asked seller how long it can last. 2 weeks for room temperature, 1 month for...
Read moreWould I queue up for more than 1 hour to get their nougat biscuit? I have tried this and other brands. Here is my opinion.
Nougat biscuit compare to others:
Their nougat biscuit is the best among all I tasted. But it is nougat biscuit. I did it once and will probably not queue up for such long hours for it again.
3 stars because you need to queue for ard 1 hour. They should implement online buying (not sure if they have) and collecting at their store (maybe restricted to 2 boxes per buyer). That way, everyone can enjoy their biscuits and not fear...
