May Snow Hakka Food — Restaurant in Da'an District

We had lunch at this famous Hakka restaurant in central Taipei and tried 2 dishes i.e. May Snow Fried Rice and Hakka mix stir-fried stuff. Both are highly recommended in this restaurant and they're good. We like both dishes which complement each other. The portion size is quite generous so we're really full finishing those dishes. Prices are reasonably good value for the quality dishes we had (total around AUD 25).

The place is not big and easy to be packed with customers. That's why we tried to come early for the lunch since we did not have any reservation. Luckily we got a table though the restaurant was busy and almost full. Customer services are good and you can find pictured menu with English translation for overseas tourists like us 👍. When we stayed at Madison hotel years ago we found this Hakka restaurant just behind the hotel. We love it so much that this time we took our fellow travellers there. It was still as great. From the beginning till the end the dinner was great. We had the chilled tomatoes which was sweet and juicy. Of course their chicken is a must and it was ordered in advance. There were steamed fish with mountain vegetables, white bitter gourd with big pig intestines 😋, thick bee hoon soup with yam and pork. For desserts (which were a surprisingly delicious) we had deep fried mochi with sesame paste and salted egg lava buns. A Michelin recommended Haka cuisine restaurant. Never know it is so popular as we have failed to book a table 3 times. Menu was with pics which made us easy to order. Food were amazingly delicious, to be really honest. But some traditonal Haka dishes (salt sticky rice ball...) need to book earlier. Suggest ask when booking the table. A special dish worth special notice was "knockle rice noodle" which need to be booked and only for birthday person. I was lucky to taste it which was magnificent.
