Muko is a short walk from Liberty Square and is a great brunch option after a morning tour of that tourist spot. I say, add this to your itinerary :)
They serve mostly western brunch dishes and I particularly loved the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Potato Silk Pie with Beef, which is basically steak & eggs benedict on fried hash potatoes instead of muffin. The eggs benedict was perfectly done! Generous amount of smoked salmon and the beef was properly seasoned! These come with a salad which I also loved the dressing. I’m just not sure why they put unhusked baby corns in the salad (for presentation maybe?) The drinks were just okay for me, but I went here for the breakfast so I’m not complaining. :)
The restaurant gives a very airy / sunny vibe, and I liked that - perfect for brunch! In terms of cost, depends on how much you order, but be prepared to spend 300-600NT, which is typical fare for brunch places in Taipei. A very solid 5/5 for me....
Read moreIt's 5 minutes walking distance from the Dongmen MRT station. Coming out from MRT use exit 3 and take a left, walk straight for 5 minutes and it will be on your right side. Now, about the place. Like other reviewers photo, the place has comfortable seats. Menu available at the counter as well as at the tables. You order it at the counter, get your own water, utensils and condiments, so it's self serve. The main course are limited but good selection of brunches. I opted for lunch instead of brunch today. Ordered the daily fish. Came with today's soup (tomatoes soup). To my surprise the fish is huge, so I was able to eat only half of it. Not sure if it is because of the soup that filled me a bit or what, but nevertheless it's big. The food tasted fine no complains. I look forward to try their brunch next time. Free...

Very diverse menu. I went for the Tang Yang chicken brunch, with scrambled eggs and a hot cafe latte. Food was delicious, no complaints at all. Coffee was good although I’ve had better, but they get a bonus point for the adorable (very Taiwanese) latte art.
Service was a little bit help yourself — cutlery, water and such is there for you to collect and ordering is done at the counter — but for English speakers it’s as simple as can be as the menu is bi-lingual and the excellent staff can speak English too. They accept Apple Pay too.
I did visit during the busy lunch period but found the atmosphere very noisy indeed. Not the best place to chill out with your coffee. Edit: earlier in the day, 10-11am, is much much...
