Pain de Kai — Restaurant in Da'an District

IG: foodie_foxx Recently, I visited a French bakery in Yilan famous for its sourdough. As soon as I walked past the bakery, the mouth-watering aroma of freshly baked bread pulled me in.

However, I must admit that the bakery did not quite live up to my expectations of a traditional French bakery. Although the sourdough was great, the other products like the cheese bun and garlic bread were a bit too hard and chewy for my liking.

On the other hand, the cranberry-filled walnut bread sticks were an absolute delight. They reminded me of the thick bread sticks I used to get from an old bakery during my childhood. The filling was sweet and tart, and the bread had a satisfying crunch.

Overall, the prices were reasonable and decent for a French bakery. While some of the products fell short, the cranberry-filled walnut bread sticks alone made the visit worthwhile. If you're ever in Yilan and craving some sourdough, this bakery is worth a try. Bon appetite...

You can taste the quality in the ingredients. But otherwise I thought the bread was a bit bland. Also would've liked more cream inside for that price point.

Not a huge variety of breads. I mean "variety" as opposed to quantity.
