Old school shaved ice shop near Taida NTU is one of my favorites in Taipeii. Large selection of traditional Taiwanese shaved ice (no snow ice here). Their specialty topping is the xiao tang yuan, or mini sweet rice balls which are freshly made. During winter, the hot dessert soups or savory tangyuan are popular for people who don’t want something cold. I like to get their strawberry ice with condensed milk and xiao tangyuan, their red bean tangyuan is also very popular.

For those who enjoy the uniqueness of Taiwanese food, this is one of the unique fresh fruits Taiwan style ice, shaved ice and sweet desserts shop you should try. Great for summer seasons! It seems this small shop have been around since after the NTU University was builded, and that's part of its charm. During the winter, I like to come here and have either the warm sweet red beans soup, or the peanuts soup. Wasn't as good as I remembered, still not too bad. Fruit shaved ice was less than before( probably because it's winter), but because it's winter there are plenty of hot sweet soup to choose from. And 湯圓 round sweety dumpling like stuff to choose. Had a red bean ice, and it was normal, not exceptional. My brother had too little red bean on his ice, which was a bit of a bummer.
