It’s our first time to try Russian Restaurant, and this is the only Russian restaurant in Taipei or maybe the entire Taiwan. But evertime we walk pass by this place always packed of people. Locals and foreigners.
Love love love the interior!
For me menu number 1 (Roasted Pork) is the highlight menu. It was creamy, savory rich of taste. My SIL and my hubby said number 2 (beef stroganoff) was the highlight menu it is savory and have some acidic flavor might come from tomato. More acceptable for Indonesian because it reminds her a lot of Indonesian Rendang. Meanwhile my daughter and my SIL boyfriend (who is Belgium) enjoyed menu number 10, chicken and roasted apple.
Goulash (menu number 7) was good but it was not our cup of tea. It’s still enjoyable tho~ All the entree comes with mashed potato, pickle and salad.
For the dessert oh myyy. I kid you not the fritter / oladyi is very damn good. The dough more like a doughnut with sour cream on top. Keffir yoghurt with brown sugar great too~ Just gather 4 people to come with you and order each of the dessert, and...

We got the sour cream chicken and roasted apple chicken. I’d recommend getting the roasted apple chicken more for its new flavors, especially if you’re someone who enjoy sweet-and-salty combos.
Even though the sour cream chicken wasn’t bad, it wasn’t too out-of-the-ordinary, so wouldn’t recommend going with it as your first time here.
The desserts here are really delicious. Their sour cream pancakes are really delicious - eat it when it arrives so the filling stays cold enough! It contrasts well with the exterior pancake.
The apple blinis is quite refreshing, so also recommend ordering this! Its crepe is quite hot and melts the ice cream really fast, so do also eat this when it arrives!
Overall this is a restaurant with unique flavors, and even though the portions aren’t enormous, it’s still filling and I’d recommend to anyone who wants to try...
Read moreVery disappointing. After having traveled to Russia and thoroughly enjoying the food there, I was hankering for more and was so excited when I found this place with excellent reviews from Russians. I ordered the borscht which was in a tomato broth instead of the beetroot soup base I was expecting. Maybe there are regional variations to the borscht but every restaurant across Russia where I ordered it, it was always a beetroot based soup. There were no beets at all in this one. But that wasn't the only problem. It was bland and monotonous and I literally got bored halfway through eating it. The only discernible flavor was salt. My friend ordered the set meal and the beef stroganoff had NO TASTE. It tasted like nothing and the only saving grace were the pickles that thankfully tasted like pickles. The beetroot salad that was part of the set was good and the rye bread I ordered as a side to my soup was good too. But everything else was just a sad, sad...
