Bossa Nova Beach Café — Restaurant in Hengchun

Food was delicious. Had a whole bass (perch) with thai sauce and a bowl of rice. Asked for only a little bit of spiciness. It was just the perfect balance out of spice and sweetness. The female cook was caring and very nice. The main course was just wonderful. Dessert (something with bread, pistachios and coconut) was a great round-up. Waiter and the boss seemed not very glad that I came in just when the kitchen was about to close, which I honestly understand. So I am thankful I was still served. Cocktail was decent. Water was served for free.

The lovely bossa nova music and well designed interieur made a wonderful atmosphere. Would have loved to stay longer on Nanwan just to go the the Bossa Nova Beach Café again. Definitely recommended!

P.S.: I only eat fish at the beach. That being said I still prefer to eat vegetarian. So it was great to see many vegetarian options being available, too....

4 stars for great food. -1 star for not too friendly We went to Bossa Nova for our friends birthday party during Spring break. When we made the reservation, the guy who answered the phone wasn't very friendly or accommodating (our friends birthday was inside the restaurant and he wanted to give us a table outside the restaurant). In the end, we were able to get a table inside the restaurant.

Food. Over-all the food is excellent. The desserts are very good (try the chocolate, caramel, cookie dessert...it's very good. Their tiramisu is good too. We had several dishes for lunch and they were all good. It's definitely a restaurant we want to go again. It would be nicer if the person on the phone was more friendly.

Love Bossa Nova. We go there every time we visit Kenting on holidays. Good menu with lots of choice from Asian to European flavors. There is something for everyone. And good wine list too. We love the lunch ambiance as well as dinner time. We like to eat late so we squeeze in around 8h30pm. Very convenient as many B&B around so just need to walk downstairs or nearby. Recommend to make reservation especially on weekends. Choice of few tables outside under nice trees (which we prefer) or indoor. Entire staff and owner are lovely. They even allowed me to make special request and order something not on the menu (mix of various ingredients from various dishes) We'll be back soon hopefully....
