This review is for our first time dining there on Feb 23 evening at 5pm. We were a party of 6 with an elderly with mobility barriers.
The food was great and we would go back for the food alone, but what made the experience exceptional was their customer service. The overall value for the food quality and its price point was already a 5/5, and a 6/5 for the overall experience how attentive and accommodating the servers were.
Because of my grandma's mobility issue, I changed my mind 4 times about which table was best to sit her at. I felt bad for causing such inconvenience but the restaurant was extremely accommodating and quick to adjust our seats. One of us knocked over a drink and they also immediately helped clearing the area and brought over a new drink even knowing we were already 99% done our dinner and possibly leaving soon.
The duck had really crispy skin and juicy on the inside, one of the best pekin ducks to my taste in a long time. The plum related dishes were all great complements - the app that has plum and tomato and some jelly thing, and also the chicken with plum were all really good - i regret not ordering a second one. The pickled glutinous rice ball was also one of my favorite.
Ambience-wise it's a vibrant restaurant and suitable for families and casual social outing. I noticed kids get duck balloons which was a nice touch.
Would love to go back to visit again and it's a good choice to take visitors / guests to...
Read moreWhen we dined at Xiang Ya on Yucheng Road in Kaohsiung, we were amazed by the abundance of the set meal for two—it was more than we could finish. The roast duck was rich in fat and incredibly delicious, leaving a lasting impression with every bite. The salted egg yolk tofu pot, though slightly greasy towards the end, maintained its tasty appeal. Overall, the food at Xiang Ya is excellent and mouth-watering, with each dish offering a delightful experience.
The service was exceptional, with staff members who were friendly and patient, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The dining environment was clean and comfortable, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Xiang Ya on Yucheng Road is definitely a dining choice worth recommending for its delicious food, excellent service, and...
