八田源 Japanese cuisine — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

This restaurant should be known for the more people. Frankly, I wasnt supposed to visit there based on my plan. But abruptly I changed my mind and visited there. It is a bit inconvinient to get there for the tourist whose hotel is near the Formosan boulevard station. But I can insist that you should visit there. It is worth being bothered to take a taxi. Or you can use the city bike cause nere the restaurant there is the city bike station. So you can return the bike easily,which is how I got there actually. I went there alone and didnt know the menu well cause I dont know the name of fish exactly in Eng. But the waitress tried to explain it and recommend. Thanks to her I could make an order for what I wanted. As a person who loves sushi, this is nice Cause it is fresh and the atmosphere is so calm and fancy. I love it!!!😍😘😘 Also it provides reasonable price! I must revisit there if I come to kaosuing again. Also, after I drank two cups of beer, they would have worried about me and asked if I wanted them to call a taxi for me. I just rejected cause I knew how to call a taxi using an application. Overall, very positive and delicious experience.

All the food brought over were in its typical izakaya portioned and were so delicious. Their chicken ball with egg yolk dish was to die for.

Omurice is a must to try. Served with both white and standard demo-glazed sauce, I liked them both.

All the meat skwers were delightful. Pork with green onions were my fav skewer combo.

Even their stir fry vegetable dishes were very flavorful. buttery and savory!

we had so much food from a bday celebration and we are glad to have had many people so that we can try lots of different dishes. do come with at least a company of 4 to try as much dishes possible.

This is our favorite sushi place in Kaohsiung so far. The staff is friendly and accommodating, though it helps to make a reservation. Menus are in Chinese and Japanese, but there is one delightfully named "inappropriate English menu" that staff can hunt down for English speakers.
