南方城 越南小吃 — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

Ordered Pork Pho and pork banh mi. Surprisingly pork pho tasted like beef pho. Thought I ordered the wrong item, checked the restaurant, it was the right one, pork pho with pork soup, but they used the same tool to cook pork and beef pho and blanch noodles or food in beef soup… I was speechless… I don’t like the taste of beef, now my meal was ruined. The way the restaurant responded was like this was a very normal way for them, he said it did not matter what kind of pho at this restaurant I ordered, they would all have taste of beef, so I said if some people were not allowed to eat beef, they could not come here to eat then, he said that’s right. Oh well, very very disappointed. Then I tried banh mi, not bad, but not authentic compared to banh mi in Vietnam or south east Asia. Came to eat here because of high score on Google map, but it did not turn...

Very fresh Vietnamese food. Lots of options. They have great self-service sauce options (if you’re a chili pepper fanatic like me). They also have great Thai tea; not too sweet. Clean and calming atmosphere. The owner is very sweet and appreciates her customers so much.

The first time I came, I had the fried spring rolls and pork cold noodles. Both tasted great. My regular order is the boiled chicken cold noodles with thai tea. Spring rolls are also very fresh and have bits of pineapple that go great with the herbs. I also recommend the hot and sour beef...
