This little izakaya is great. A real hidden gem. Of course, there are so many places like this in kaohsiung, but this one is fairly inexpensive and the food is actually quite authentic and delicious. They don't serve you a bowl of rice for some reason, so I'd recommend the BBQ onigiri. It's small, but crispy and delicious. In my opinion, I think this restaurant is seems to target customers who are good with few cups/bottles of beers. If you are the ones, you should have come to this place. It’s good to spend your evening or weekend with your friends. Booking a table is needed for this restaurant.

最近去吃了朋友推薦的味根串燒。 說是串燒店，其實更像一個放鬆的場所。店裡空間不大，氛圍卻很自在，三五好友坐在一起，慢慢品嚐師傅的功力，就覺得什麼都不急。 我們幾乎把雞肉類全點了一輪，有雞肉串、雞翅中、七里香到雞皮，還有我特別愛的雞軟骨。味根的串燒好吃在火侯跟調味都很剛好，雞皮脆得讓人難忘，雞肉串多汁不柴，七里香跟雞胗吃得到內臟的香氣卻一點腥味都沒有。很適合點幾杯酒，慢慢聊、慢慢吃。 豚肉麻糬串依舊是必點。外層豬肉包著軟黏的麻糬，甜甜鹹鹹很容易上癮。還有豚肉番茄串，咬下去會爆汁，酸甜剛好解膩。第一次試了豚肉鮮蝦串，也很驚喜，蝦子彈牙、豬肉油香，口感層次很有趣。 除了串燒，他們家的小炒跟湯也值得一試。我們點了雨來菇炒蛋、桂竹筍，簡單調味就很好吃。蒜頭蛤蜊湯熱呼呼端上來，蛤蜊飽滿，湯頭很鮮，讓整桌人都安靜下來專心喝湯。 吃到最後大家還是忍不住點了蛋包麵收尾，醬汁跟蛋香很討喜。那一晚我們在串燒香氣裡聊了很多舊事，感覺像又多留住了一點彼此的時間。 如果你最近也想找個地方，隨興坐著吃點東西，喝點小酒，味根很適合。點幾串招牌，留點胃給麻糬串，然後慢慢體會那種簡單又剛好的快樂。
