新台灣原味懷舊餐廳 高雄館 — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

We were visiting the children's art museum and then we walked to this restaurant. Minimum charge is 300 per adult and 150 per child. We got the set meal for 2 (not available on holidays). We were there on a weekday night at 5pm and we walked right in without a reservation. The food is as mentioned, very tasty. It's like elevated home cooked meal. Old timey taste. The soups were huge and we couldn't finish all the food. They had high chairs available and the service was prompt and helpful. There's a train you can fine in (but it was very hot when we were there) so we dined in the normal dining room. Cash only, nice for a visit for a blast...

Great place for families, so you can try their many interesting dishes. The shrimp with scallions and salted duck egg yolk was flavorful. First time trying stir-fried white water snowflake with pickled cordia fruit (破布子炒水蓮), so yummy! Would recommend the pork with pickled vegetables, the crispy chicken with (real) plum sauce, and the silver fish omelette. Everything was very authentic and delicately cooked. This restaurent is very nicely decorated with the idea of nostalgic Taiwan. Everything in here is Taiwan back in time. loved every bit and I just had to take pictures of everything. the food is also very good. the service is also good and fast. I loved the soup. there were 2 dishes I didn't like like the veggies and the pork. overall would come again to try...
