Hi-Lai Shanghainese Dumpling Kaohsiung Dream Mall Branch — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

This place is busy during meal times so I suggest dropping by to hold a spot first. We ordered their two people value meal and were satisfied with all the dishes. The amount is a little too much for two ladies but should be just right for a couple.

Outside of their set course, I especially love their fried shrimp soup buns 蝦肉生煎湯包. The outer layer is nice and crispy while the inside is tender and juicy.

Lastly the service is great. Even though they are busy, we do not feel rushed to finish our meals at all. The appetizers came quickly while the dessert only came when we are finishing up our main course. We were able to our time eating...

We were there on a weekend. Mall was crowded. We took a Q number but didn't have to wait too long. Staff service was very polite and prompt. We tried the siao lung pau, pork chop fried rice, chicken soup and hawthorn drink. Menu was almost the same as Din Tai Fung. The food was very good. Siao lung pau could do with a bit more soup inside. Fried rice was really good with a thick huge slice of pork chop. Chicken soup was a small size, good for only 1 pax. Hawthorn drink was sour, I'll skip this the next time. Overall good value, delicious meal....

Dumpling is the main delicious restaurant. Handmade dumpling, which is made and served right away than other menus, is much more delicious than other restaurants. If you go to Dream Mall, it is worth visiting. It is a restaurant that many locals visit, and the service and guidance are excellent.
