Dimdimsum — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

HK dim sum restaurant in Taiwan. This branch is in Dream Mall, Kaohsiung. Best and must try dish is 'Deep fried crispy noodle roll with shrimo' which is essentially what N.American dim sum restaurants would call stuffed Chinese donut with shrimp, wrapped with steamed rice roll. It's like the traditional HK 炸兩but the Chinese donut is stuffed with shrimp meat. The Chinese donut 油炸鬼 (炸油條) was very crispy. The whole dish had a surprising texture and tasted great. The other popular item is the piggy custard buns. They are just too cute. Flip the piggy face down for a few minutes before you eat it if you want the custard come out more easily from the nose. 2 people spent $1000 and we were both very full. Service was good and 10% service charge...

The place is quite big, but there was so much people, so you still need to wait in the line for a while. The space is well decorated with their own personality. The dishes I ordered was great amount for the price. The piggy custard buns were great, but it wasn't really hot. Maybe they think it is better to serve it warm, so customer won't burn their tongue. That's why the filling didn't flow like the photo they showed. I would definitely come back again when I want to eat some food...
