Been to this place twice in the past. Maybe it was during the day that the number of guests covered up the mistakes that was displayed at our dinner this time around. From not getting our order right to disrupting the dining atmosphere, King Chui was an absolute disaster. While trying to enjoy their dishes, runners and other employees were being very loud in their daily work flow. Utensils hitting porcelain ware and metal pans dropping from time to time, with each mistake that continues to unfold, the quality of the food start to decrease bit by bit. You will start to notice that because it was during one of the last rounds of service, the quality of the food that comes out of the kitchen can be compared to cafeteria food. The rice was dry, dishes were oily, making each dish unauthentic and distasteful. Overall, this dining experience not only demonstrated the lack of training in service, but also brought out the question if there was an actual existing SOP in place. It was a shame that the service and quality of food wasted such a comfortable environment. If this experience continues to be a constant at King Chui, it is a disgrace to have such an establishment within a...
Read moreMy friend and I had made a reservation at the restaurant for 18:30hrs using my name, Ms. XX.
"Are you the booking of Mr. XXXX for three persons?" the waitress asked as we entered the restaurant. (Errrr...... there were no other visitors at that time, so I was perplexed and told her it was a reservation for two people at 18:30 hrs. and no one else was in the vicinity!!)
Not only that, but a senior female colleague dashed two meters away, turned around behind her counter, faced the wall, and grabbed a Microphone walkie-talkie, instructing her colleague to inquire for the guest's name rather than guessing what Mr. XX's reservation should be.
Their professionalism is unbearable to me. "It's Miss XXX who reserved seats for two at 18:30 hrs., and I can obviously hear your chats," I told them. What an incredible experience!!!
Food is fine, by the way. I requested that the chopstick’s replacement due to its decorating tips had come off before I used. The food is simply average, and the pricing...

I got there for lunch and the restaurant was less than 2/3 full. There was only one employee working as a front desk and a cashier and the 2 stations are around 8 meters away. I had to wait around 15 mins for someone coming to lead the way. When I ordered, staff B mistakenly typed the wrong item into system because staff A's mark was confusing. When they delivered the ha how dumplings, they delivered the wrong item.
I was surprised the way how staff handled the close- to-peak time. The beef chow fun, HK style milk tea, lava buns, mushroom chicken...
