Summary: Good food, good pad thai. This shop’s pad thai isn’t a “watered down” (less oil, less salt) version that most Southeast Asian restos in Taipei do to adjust to the local palate/preference.
One of my favorite Thai places in Xindian, New Taipei City. It’s a local Thai shop that offers good pad thai, shrimp cakes, and other thai food at a reasonable price.
The place is very unassuming, offering a homey, laid back feel typical of small, local shops.
I always get their Thai Red Milk Tea (40 NTD), pad thai (120 NTD) + a runny egg (which google mistakenly translates as “poached egg”), and shrimp cakes (180 NTD).
One other little thing I love about this shop is how they have the proper dried chili flakes that goes well with Thai food. This is quite difficult to ask for in restaurants as they usually only have chili oil in Taiwan.
