白楊樹 Cafe Björk林口店 — Restaurant in New Taipei

My laptop and I visit a lot of cafes. As an author, I’m always looking for good places not only to eat and drink but to sit and write for hours. As a teacher, I believe in scoring according to various criteria. With that in mind, these are my opinions about this one.

Food: * I had the clam chowder and Iberian sausage quesadilla. The chowder was okay, but don’t expect it to be like the kind you’d get in a restaurant in the U.S. It reminded me of corn soup with a few clams and croutons in it. (I’m not sure it actually contained corn, but the broth was exactly like the broth that often comes in corn soup.) The quesadilla included mushrooms, onions, olives, and bell peppers along with the cheese. Oh, and a few tiny slivers of meat that I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t opened it up to search for them. It was crispy and tasty, but the outer edges were dry, since the cheese and other fillings didn’t come all the way to the edge. It came with a little sour cream and spicy green salsa on the side. Drinks: ** I had the fresh dragonfruit juice. It was good! Prices: * Variety of Menu Options Available: * There are main courses, soups, salads, and desserts. I really wanted to try some of the delicious-looking desserts in the glass case, but I just wasn’t hungry enough this time, so I’ll have to come by another time for that. Variety of Non-Coffee Drink Options: ** They have a few fruit juices, a few teas, and even wine. English Menu? yes Wi-Fi/Charging Ports Available? Wi-fi, yes. No charging ports or outlets that I could see. Pleasant Environment/Comfortable to Write In: * The music was soft and pleasant and non-distracting (instrumental only while I was there). I recommend using one of the white chairs, not the gray ones, if you plan to work here on a laptop; the chair backs are at a better angle for typing at the table. 週日中午在附近，看了Google而來，吃東西沒有拍照的習慣，特別的情形才會給予評論，因此，想看照片可以去網路看，擺盤都還蠻美的。

先說餐點，今日點了3道菜、一杯飲料、一份甜點。

地中海香烤海釣鮮魷：從照片看到擺盤很美，但吃起來完全沒有海鮮的甜味，滿滿的都是孜然的調味（不知道為什麼會選擇孜然），即使沾了鹽，鮮味還是沒有出來。

辣味蕃茄奶油海鮮帕瑪森乾酪義大利麵：吃起來就是有一點點微辣的麵，沒有其他更好的形容了，海鮮有三個蛤蜊、三個九孔、三隻蝦，只有蝦子讓人覺得鮮甜好吃。

炙燒美國極黑豬起司燉飯：可能是因為起司的種類關係，大約第四口就感到有點膩，豬肉本身的肉質蠻好吃的，可惜鹽過多，無法讓人好好享受肉的美味，因為要配水，真的很鹹。

冰鮮奶茶：沒有冰塊，是冷藏的冷度，有點像立頓奶茶的味道，中規中矩。

藍莓乳酪蛋糕：因為真的很喜歡起司、乳酪這類的，所以看到評論說甜點比主食強，很期待，結果乳酪味偏淡，有點像麵包店乳酪麵包的淡淡乳酪味，藍莓的部分，沒有吃到藍莓本身的味道，比超市果醬再淡，偏甜。

最後補上環境的部分，剛坐下去沒多久，附近有一桌客人離開，店員擦拭桌子噴了一個有刺鼻味道的清潔劑，類似白博士的味道，感覺很奇怪，如果順著風吹過來，好像沒那麼衛生⋯ 然後廁所垃圾桶建議可以換大一點，進去看到垃圾桶旁有垃圾，但因為垃圾桶太滿，也沒辦法協助撿起。 ...
