My laptop and I visit a lot of cafes. As an author, I’m always looking for good places not only to eat and drink but to sit and write for hours. As a teacher, I believe in scoring according to various criteria. With that in mind, these are my opinions about this one.
Food: * I had the “nine story pagoda pork meatball sliced savory pie”. (With a name like that, how could I resist?!) It turned out to be a delicious meatball quiche, light and flaky with a truly excellent flavor. I highly recommend it! Later I ordered the “fresh tomato Italian spice sliced savory pie”. It was also quite a good quiche, but if you’re trying to decide between them, I suggest going with the meatball one. Drinks: ** I had the brown sugar latte. Not bad! It paired nicely with my quiche. Prices: ** Variety of Menu Options Available: * There are only 5 food options (all quiche/tarts). A decent variety of coffees, though. Variety of Non-Coffee Drink Options: ** There are only 3 (cocoa milk, matcha milk, lemon matcha) English Menu? No, I used Google Translate (see my pics of the original and translated menu). Be aware that some of the menu translations are a little misleading. For example, the different lattes aren’t really what they sound like. The “nutty and chocolatey” flavor is referring to the coffee itself, not to nuts or chocolate being added to the latte. If you don’t read or speak Chinese, you may have a hard time finding the exact drink you want. Wi-Fi/Charging Ports Available? Yes, both, plus outlets by one of the tables. Pleasant Environment/Comfortable to Write In: ** This is probably the tiniest coffee shop my laptop and I have ever visited! There are just two little tables (probably seating for a maximum of 6 people), so don’t come with a large group. It’s cute, though! If you’re fine with tiny, it’s not a bad choice. I was the only customer the whole time I was there, and it didn’t feel like the sort of place that gets crowded very often. The chair back wasn’t at quite the right angle to be ideal for sitting and typing, but it wasn’t too bad. I like this cafe’s location on a quiet residential side street. It was nice to stretch my legs by strolling around outside. Customer Service: * The manager was nice and as helpful as he could be as I tried to order from my translated menu pictures. Hours: 12:00-7:00 p.m. (closed Monday & Tuesday) What was the Restroom Like? Clean and surprisingly spacious for such...
