Caffe’ Rue Tianmu 路口加啡（天母店） — Restaurant in Shilin District

Cute coffee shop with an assortment of specialty coffee drinks, tea drinks, smoothies, alcohol, paninis, pasta, salad, and amazing looking baked goods! I got cappuccino with cinnamon on top and a caramel biscuit tea latte. To eat we got a pesto chicken salad and a smoked salmon panini that came with A little dish of plain homemade yogurt garnished with berry granola. Everything was delicious and we plan to go back. There were chocolate chip cookies, scones, banana bread, carrot cake, lava cake, and a lot of other absolutely delicious looking deserts available as well. There is more seating than appears to be available from the street and it's actually quite cozy. Menu has english and the cashier spoke English to me with no prompting, as I usually speak Chinese. This is a small cafe near zhishan mrt station. It’s often full with people waiting, which can be frustrating. Once inside it’s comfortable but a little cramped. They often leave the door and windows open and I’ve found it to be a little cold on occasion. Despite that the food and coffee is good I do like the sourdough sandwiches made with fresh bread. The meals appear to be served with small bowls for fresh yogurt, which is a nice touch. They make most of their own cakes and scones, and they do a good job of those. We tried the mushroom soup and that was ok for me. Coffee is good (but I don’t have a refined palette for coffee tasting 😝). The menu is quite varied but I haven’t tried much beyond sandwiches. They do take reservations (just that we were never told) — after we walked in and sat on that LAST EMPTY TABLE (much to our delight as the sun was burning), we were asked to give up our spot since a CLIENT CALLED TO BOOK those seats. When asked why they could not take a few seconds off that call to let us know right after we walked in (which seemed more proper), we were told CAUSE THE CLIENT HAD NOT CONFIRMED. The client booked after we settled down and were looking to order.

Going through earlier reviews, seems like others have also struggled with limited seating. So, sharing the NEW RULE they have added to the game — can call and book 10+ minutes ahead.
