Eddy's Cantina Mexican Restaurant 艾迪墨西哥餐廳 — Restaurant in Shilin District

Great place in the Tianmu neighborhood. They recently received an honor of top 500 dishes in Taiwan for the carnitas (pork) enchiladas. No wonder, this is my go to meal at Eddy's, the meat is marinated so it's flavorful and tender. The sauce is rich and delicious and if it's not at your preferred spice level, it also comes with a couple of spicy sauces and pico de gallo. These enchiladas are straight fire, dawg! I had carnitas enchiladas at another nearby American Tex-Mex chain restaurant located in a department store, and the meat was kinda tough and not very flavorful, I couldn't stop thinking about how the enchiladas at Eddy's are much better. Their fish tacos are also very excellent, and that is my second favorite thing to eat there.

Overall the place has a fun and friendly vibe, there are events like pub quiz which are very fun and Eddy himself is a really nice guy and remembers people very well. It's also a great place to watch sports and my only complaint about the place is that I wish they would...

New Kid on the Block

I really want to give a 5 star or at least a 4 star review because the food is good and you get great bang for your buck, but the service left me irritated and put out despite a great dinner.

The new kid (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt) took our order. He missed two out of three things and despite checking twice, managed to screw up one of two sides on the entree.

Luckily for him, Winnie and Rozel came to the rescue and were very professional about it. However, the new kid proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the evening, not even making eye contact or alerting his coworkers that we wanted to order another round of drinks. He didn't apologize for screwing up and forgetting half of our order.

Then despite all that, at the end of the night we were still charged a full service fee, because I didn't rant and rave about it enough. I suppose.

So lessons learned: double check your order ticket when it comes to your table and be angrier when someone screws...

First let’s start with the food , They only get one star because of the sauce and bread on the pulled pork sliders. I had the burrito and it made my stomach hurt badly. Tried to get the waiters attention and was ignored 5x. Bathroom had a dead cockroach which should have been a dead giveaway. Tried to charge me for a dish that made me sick. Now I know reason why this place has terrible reviews.

So your wait staff understanding what happened, and saying they’ll keep a better eye on the kitchen staff contradicts what your reply means, the fact that you ignore the dead cockroach , your business trying to charge me for a dish that made me sick , man you need to sort your kitchen and kitchen staff out. You know dam well if a health inspector experienced what I experienced you’d be in deep waters. And I find it hilarious all negative reviews echo the same sentiment. Ah well , I’ll never dine...
