Cafe Mode 木馬咖啡.餐.酒 ｜民生社區不限時咖啡廳 — Restaurant in Songshan District

I seldom leave negative reviews, but my experience at Cafe Mode was exceptionally disappointing. Despite marketing itself as a family-friendly restaurant, it fell short in many aspects. Despite booking a week in advance for three adults and a 3-year-old, we were seated uncomfortably close to the restroom at a small table. The so-called "playroom" was disappointingly small, unkempt, and offered minimal entertainment – just a lone styrofoam horse.

As we settled in, the waitress rushed us to order, creating an uneasy start to our meal. During our time there, we noticed a consistently displeased expression from the waitress, which impacted our experience. The food portions were extremely small and exorbitantly priced. The panini lacked moisture and flavor, while the pesto kamameshi lacked any discernible pesto taste. Even the lasagna tasted like a mass-produced meal. Disappointingly, the desserts didn’t fare any better; the cream had an off-putting smell of refrigeration.

The overall ambiance felt unwelcoming, the service was hurried, and the food lacked both taste and quality. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Mode, especially for families...

It’s a decent cafe. Ordered a panini, yoghurt, and coffee. Yoghurt was pretty good, coffee pretty good, and the panini was pretty good too, but it had very little meat inside and was mostly bread. Service was ok, but I had to go up to both order and pay the bill .... but there is still a 10% service charge. So here is a question I have for the management: Why am I paying a service fee, when there is no service??? The seating was more comfortable than some other cafes on that same street, and if I come again I’ll try to sit outside...
