Sashimi were fresh and appetizing. The side dishes not only were plentiful, they were colorful and eye catching, which may explain why this place could appeal to some. Personally I'm not a big fan of this type of Japanese cuisine. For $500-$700 range, I would prefer to spend it more on raw fish. However, it does stand out as being unique in Lalaport and gives mall go-ers another interesting option to choose from.

Wife loves their tartar sauce for the fried chicken and I like their beautiful overall presentation of the basket of assorted dishes. They were delicious. We will definitely keep them in our visit again list.

LaLaport Grand Opening crowd. Quite a gathering advance reservation recommended. The weekend crowd will most likely last over the summer so book early for your favorite restaurants.

Kitamaru prides itself in preparing daily broth from scratch using konbu and anchovies. Come see for yourself and experience a little piece of Japan in Taichung, Taiwan.
