The hotel's location was good, just next to Taichung Train Station. I arrived in Taichung on the HSR, and took a local train to Taichung station and walked to the hotel.
The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the counter were friendly and helpful.
I had a room on the 10th floor and at the end of the building; literally at the end of the corridor. The room is small, though not the smallest I've experienced. There were some walking space and enough space for me to open up my luggage; though not enough for me to keep it open throughout my stay. The room was brightly lit and looks clean. I had a window, which unfortunately looks out to the next building; no view but sufficient to let natural light comes in. The bathroom was spacious enough, which is good; some other hotel's bathroom barely has space for me to walk within.
There wasn't any wardrobe in the room. Somehow, many hotels in Taiwan seem to think it's not a necessity. They only provide a space to hang your clothes and only enough space for 4 or 5 shirts. Basically, I had to keep most of my clothes in my luggage during my stay here.
The bed was comfortable. There wasn't any noise at night, probably because I was at the back of the building away from the main road.
The corridor was well decorated and brightly lit. Apparently, each floor has a different theme.
Breakfast starts at 7 am, which is rather late. Also, there's only limited seating so if you come late, you'll have to wait for others to finish. The food was OK, mostly local selection.
The hotel has a laundromat which you can use free-of-charge. The dryer seems to be rather weak: I washed a load of clothes and used the dryer to dry them, and it took about 2 hours to dry! Be prepared to wait if you intend to wash your clothing.
There are lots of food choices around the hotel. There's also a shopping mall within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would gladly...
Read moreMy stay at CityInn Hotel Plus Taichung Station Branch was nothing short of exceptional! Have booked a Deluxe Triple room with them in early May 2024. Room view was amazing facing Fuxing Road and the hotel is incredibly generous with the amount of toiletries provided.
One of the standout features for me was the attention to detail in the breakfast offerings. I appreciated that the hotel kitchen took the time to ensure that the bananas served were perfectly ripe, striking that delicate balance between not being underripe or overripe which is not a common practice when comparing with other hotels.
Massive shoutout to Emma from housekeeping as she neatly tied out the charging cable, making it incredibly convenient to charge my devices without any hassle.
I was also impressed by the diligence of the reception staff, particularly when it came to handling luggage. They made sure to verify that the luggage tag matched the rightful owner before releasing it, ensuring peace of mind and security.
4.Additionally, the reception staff displayed exemplary hospitality by kindly asking us what time we would return to the room so they could arrange housekeeping accordingly.
Furthermore, the hotel's commitment to guest comfort was evident when they offered us earplugs to mitigate any noise disturbances in the corridor.
Finally, I was pleasantly surprised when the reception called to remind us about our checkout time, providing a seamless and stress-free experience for its guests.
Overall, my stay at CityInn Hotel Plus Taichung Station Branch exceeded all expectations, thanks to its impeccable service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. With the current value it offers, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay...
Read moreI can’t recommend this hotel enough - it was the perfect place for us and had great service.
Firstly, its location is right near Taichung Station and is easily walkable. The location of the hotel is also close to lots of restaurants and stores, including Taroko Mall which has a variety of restaurants and a large food court.
It’s worth mentioning that this hotel is better than most when it comes to arriving before the check-in time - this is due to the welcoming common areas available on the main floor. After leaving our luggage with reception, we could stay in the common area to enjoy wifi, free drinks (lemon tea, milk tea, coffee, etc.), some books and newspapers, and use the washroom if needed.
After checking into our room, we found it to be clean, comfortable, and relatively quiet, though some minor noise could be heard from the neighbouring room. I would say that the room was nicer than I’d expected from looking at photos, and we ended up extended our stay by 1 extra night.
The free laundry room available to guests was also great - it was stocked with detergent and dryer sheets. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers, though one of the dryers wasn’t working at the time of our stay. My recommendation would be to try and do laundry at off-peak times since it can get quite busy and you may need to wait for a long time for a dryer to become available. I did my laundry at around 19:00 and found that all the machines were in constant use, and I ended up waiting for about an hour for a dryer to become available after washing my clothes. Perhaps doing laundry earlier in the morning would be less busy.
The hotel staff were always friendly, accommodating, pleasant to deal with, and spoke English very well.
I would recommend this hotel to...
