貓吃魚 — Restaurant in Taichung

I just ate and was walking by. Stopped in for a quick beer just to relax and read the menu; since they were closing. The kitchen was already closed, but they let me in to look at the menu and have a beer. Everything looked good from what people were eating.

Chefs cleaning the kitchen were doing a really thorough job, so not worried about eating here at all. Waiter that took my beer order was really helpful and great.

Will definitely come back for food soon. Wish I walked past it earlier...

A hidden gem in Xitun District, a family style, friendly Japanese style restaurant. Chef and his better half are fun to chat with. They use quality seasonal catches from Japan and local islands, ingredients are always fresh, usually lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Really fresh ingredients, quality is really good, nice decor, we forgot to take photos of all the dishes but will definitely come back. Portion size is not big here, cold sake x3 was smooth with fruity after taste :) we had cod liver salad, tuna with scallion roll, mixed sashimi, baked tuna roll with cheese, grilled mushrooms, flounder don x2 for 3 people.
