Cumin Indian Restaurant on Fulin Road is a great place to enjoy flavorful Indian cuisine in Taichung. The dishes are aromatic, the environment is welcoming, and the staff provide friendly service.
The exterior is eye-catching, with traditional Indian patterns on the glass windows. Inside, the dining area is bright, spacious, and comfortable — great for both small gatherings and family dinners.
The staff are friendly and polite. They are very patient and helpful when taking orders or explaining the menu. You can also customize your spice level or ask for vegetarian options.
Recommended dishes:
Masala Lamb: Tender and juicy lamb pieces simmered in a rich masala sauce. The flavor is deep and aromatic, with just the right balance of spice and tomato tanginess. It’s perfect with naan or basmati rice.
Chicken Tikka: Perfectly grilled chicken marinated in yogurt and traditional spices. The meat is smoky, flavorful, and stays juicy inside — a great choice if you love tandoori-style dishes.
Naan Bread: Soft, slightly chewy, and freshly baked — ideal for dipping into curry or masala sauce.
It’s perfect for trying authentic Indian food without it being too strong or oily. I’d rate it 5 stars — worth visiting again, especially to try more curry and naan...
Read moreWhile staying in a foreign country, the first thing which came into my mind: where should i go for lunch/dinner? I never had to think twice for my lunch/dinner since my 1st visit to this restaurant on my very first day in Taichung. The quality of the food, in a single word is 'mouth-watering', an Indian restaurant with all Indian authentic foods with some having 'taiwanese' touch. You should not miss their 'buffet' which they arrange occasionally, sometimes in festive seasons. The atmosphere is simply awesome, and obviously quite comfortable for the kids. The owners, Mr Manish and Mrs Bharti, both of them are extremely humble, courteous and also friendly, it's quite rare to see the owners attending every table to ensure that visitors get foods as per their expectations. In these 5 months of my stay in Taichung, i never had to go anywhere to satisfy my taste buds. I really fall short of words to mention how they helped me during my stay here in Taichung. Lastly i must thank the cooks who prepared the delicious foods . I can say , you will regret definitely if you don't visit 'Cumin' which is certainly one of the finest Indian...
Read moreI went for lunch today, and I’m disappointed, first I ordered a set 1 meal, which is supposed to included chicken and Chana masala, but the ratio was 80% Chad masala and only 3 little tiny pieces of chicken, the naan was okay, the rice a bit hard but okay, I’m surprised for the quality of the meal, there are many many other Indian restaurants that offer good food at a lower cost, I think because of that the restaurant is empty, When I was about to pay the cashier gave me a different price, charging me 50$ dollars for a drink, when the advertisement clearly says 40$,
as far as I know:
false advertising is illegal in Taiwan, primarily governed by the Fair Trade Act and the Consumer Protection Act.
I asked her and showed her that it’s clearly 40$ and she said that the price has change and still charged me 50$
Not really a pleasant experience, I could have had a better...
