Bistro88light 崇德店 — Restaurant in Taichung

Food tasted fresh and flavor is where it should be. But the service was really slow, the staff appeared to be unprepared even thou I was told by the person inviting us we had made reservations prior.

We had placed an order for 7 meals, the fact that the menu was so fixed we cannot upgrade and pay the price difference to the special drink. Therefore we lost out on the drink that came with the meal (to which made it feel I was.taken advantage of). At this point in my trip, It was painfully rilude awakening that most of these places in Taiwan doesn't really give a damn about their customer. I keep running into senario that restaurant staff's excuses are that the system is set up a certain way that it is impossible to change anything or substitute anything. But when point out the flaws of owners system, I consistently being met with its customer should change their expectations.

Our party had 8 drink items, it had taken the staff about 30 min to correctly fulfill the drink order. 3 hot Americano takes about 15 min for the staff to bring 2, I had to follow up 15 min after the initial 2 hot coffee were served to ask where is the 3rd one. The hot latte came 15 mins apart too. The two juice item came together.

Food came sporadically, as the two egg plate item came first, the two person ahd finished their food then came the 3 sandwich. Waited until the 3 people finished their food and then at this point the kid is no longer hungry for waiting and eating other people's food. Mine sandwich came 2nd to last and we arrived 9:00 ish. And my food was served at at 10:30 ish. It shouldn't take the restaurant 1 hour to fuillfill the order. The fact that we needed to follow up and that a service charge 10% tip was added with non flexible ordering system and long wait made this is highly frustrating and infuriating experience at best. But then most of the Taiwan restaurant happened to think that they can do no wrong. No apology or simple follow up on our dining experience seems to be the norm on this island. I cannot recommend this place when I've spend over $100 USD for this kind of customer experience. Avoid at all cost.

Your best bet is going to a night market or traditional restaurant where the experiences are far more satisfying and friendly environment. Stay away...

This establishment is always a good choice for Western style, high quality brunch in this neighborhood.
