Shang Niu 2 Beef Noodle Restaurant — Restaurant in Taichung

First of, the idea of not being able to make reservations is just completely non-sense, second of, they require you to sit there for hours straight and wait because they won’t call you and this is just outrageous. Plus, the beef isn’t even good for the price as it doesn’t even have the taste of the actual beef and tastes fairly cheap, very poor service since the waiters are simply reluctant to help and so there’s not much to say bout that. Honestly, if you’re looking for the same type of restaurant in Taichung, I strongly recommend 演藝牛鍋, the price is equivalent(if not slightly higher but totally worth it), but they have much better and friendlier service, the environment is cleaner, brighter, and a lot more comfortable, the quality of their beef is also a lot better. Overall just very dissatisfied and disappointed since I literally waited for more than two hours in the cold. I mean first of I wouldn’t even wait for that long in the first place if I knew that it’s gonna be that long since it’s the front desk clerk who legitimately said it’s gonna be just an hour long wait like I felt like I’m being lied...

We visited 尚牛2館 for dinner. We wanted to try the 温体牛肉 ( basically fresh beef that is not chilled), which they are known for. We ordered the 原味筋肉鍋 ( original beef stock pot). Soup came with beef tendons, cabbage, mushrooms, and a slice of pumpkin. We ordered 2 plates of super tender beef plate (超嫩牛肉盤) as it is more value for money. The beef has a little fats on it and is really, really nice. It's tender and tastes very nice. Beef ball is a must order. It's so flavourful that you should eat it on its own. After I finished my plate of super tender beef plate, I ordered another plate of tender beef plate (嫩牛肉盤). This beef is basically beef with min fats on it. Both tue super tender and tender beef plate tasted similar with the super tender plate has a litte edge over the other. 주말+식사시간 이라는 점 때문에 2시간을 웨이팅 하고 먹은 곳. 두시간을 기다리며 먹을 정도의 식당은 아니지만 타이난에서 유명한 소고기 탕을 타이중에서 제대로 맛볼 수 있었다. 소고기의 질 또한 다른 소고기탕과는 비교 할 수 없을 정도로 부드러웠다. 또한 탕도 나오기 전까지 입에서 떼지 못할 정도로 만족스러운 육수였고, 다른 볶음 요리 또한 다른 러차오 집과 비교했을 때 손색이 없을 정도. 대기하면서 우유 아이스크림을 먹었는데(원래는 NTD30, 기다리면서 미안하셨는지 무료로 주심) 패밀리마트에서 먹은 우유 아이스크림보다 맛있었다. 신선한 우유의 본연의 맛.
