After 40 years of having eaten family-cooked meals at Vietnamese restaurants in Taiwan, as well as from families in America and Canada, this restaurant's rendering of Vietnamese food is really poor! Even the small hole-in-the-wall restaurant (玉芳越南小吃) I frequently go to in Fengyuan (豐原區) is much much better than this!
Given the more expensive prices here, a customer would expect this restaurant to provide decent flavored Phở soup broth, which is the most important flavor of the Vietnamese food tradition. The broth I had here was very bland. Restaurants elsewhere endeavor to provide at least a mildly salty broth as a compliment to the flavorful broth of authentically traditional Phở soup broth. The broth here had neither richly salted nor traditionally flavored with spices.
What's the matter, restaurant owners? Is the rent at this location so expensive that you must go cheap on the ingredients and make your customers eat such poor swill?
I did not finish the plate of fried spring rolls, as they tasted like dull tasteless potatoes stuffed into rolls.
While the coffee tastes sweet as expected, it does not taste like imported Vietnamese coffee that even the smaller modest authentic restaurants are proud to serve.
The food here is minimally edible!
Really disappointed with this restaurant. I will not be coming back to this location.

Read moreThis is a good place to sample the vast complexity of Vietnamese cuisine. This was my first visit, and the Beef Pho (beef rice noodle soup) was lovely with a rich broth, plenty of thin slices of beef, and some greens. I also had a Green Papaya Salad with shrimp and chicken which was also delicious if not a little simple. Having been to Southern, Central, and Northern Vietnam many times, I'm a bit more used to the lightness created by adding lots of fresh herbs to most dishes which I was missing here. But the food is solid and the prices are right, my total...
Read moreNot tasty. This is not Vietnamese cuisine, but Taiwanese cuisine that looks like Vietnamese. Before ordering, I showed a photo of the soup, which shows that there are squid, mussels, shrimp and liver. They made me a soup with 4 shrimp, and the vegetables were chopped very large! The spring rolls consist of greens, the shrimp are just for show. The soup is absolutely not Vietnamese, such soup can be bought at any nearby establishment. I will not come here again and do not recommend it! It’s very...
