A-Cai Beef Soup — Restaurant in Tainan

Simply put, this is one of the place where you must go if you like to eat beef. First things first, you can't expect anything other than food quality from here. It is NOT a Michelin restaurant. At most, it's just a place similar to Hong Kong's Dai Pai Dong (大排檔). If you are looking for upscale decoration and attentive services, then you will be disappointed. What you will get instead, is one of the best beef you would ever taste. The signature Beef Soup (牛肉湯) is good, of course. But I highly recommend its Scallion Beef Stir-fry (葱爆牛肉). You can tell that it is great just by its smell. I forgot to take a picture of the dish because of the smell of the fresh beef. IMO, this 180 NTD dish rivals dishes made of Kobe Beef or Angus Beef that costs a lot more. Oh, there is one thing that I need to remind you. If you try the Beef Soup, remember to eat the beef fast. I believe that they put raw thinly-sliced beef into the hot beef soup. The longer you wait, the more the beef becomes too well-done. #eattaiwan #eatbeef #tainanfood...

My partner and I were blessed to be taken around Tainan on our day trip by 阿姨 (aunty).

We stopped here for dinner after checking out Anping fort and treehouse, with 阿姨 saying it was the best local place for fresh tainan beef soup.

I've been told that the meat used is not frozen, and is freshly delivered to the restaurant from cows raised around Tainan. It definitely did not disappoint.

The beef soup was full of clean but rich flavour, and the beef tasted very fresh. We also had stir fried beef with cailan (皆蘭菜), which was also delicious. From a pure taste perspective, this was one of my favourite meals on this trip so far, I would highly recommend and plan on visiting again.

I would advise dining there before 6 pm, as they have limited daily stock, and on the day we were there (a Monday), had sold...

Tainan must-eat food is beef soupe. The beef is freshly cut, and the meat is fresh from the morning.

This place is the best place to eat beef soupe in this area of Tainan.

I was lucky to arrive late at night in the middle of the week and got a table. Apparently, during lunch a d weekend, there's a long queue. Also, they have a 2nd location walking distance.

Their beef soupe, beef garlic & vegetable and beef onion is amazing. I highly recommend it.
