Chou’s Shrimp Rolls — Restaurant in Tainan

I don’t leave bad reviews ever but if I could leave a 0 star review for this place, I would. A 1 star is still too kind. The service was terrible and the staff kept rushing me to place my order when I was still looking at the menu. After which I ordered their Danzai noodles, and the staff insisted I try their signature prawn rolls and prawn pie indicating that it’s their signature dish many times, so I decided ok, I’ll give it a try. I’m not even exaggerating when I say, the team started to say something in hokkien about me being slow to order thinking I can’t understand. Food came, everything was bad. Prawn rolls and prawn pie were dry. The noodles were not tasty, rice noodles felt uncooked. Which was puzzling given there are quite a few good ratings here.

I kid you not when I say the staff are rude, cos when I requested to takeaway the remaining prawn roll and prawn cake as I didn’t want to waste it, the rude staff told me to pack it myself when she packed food for other people herself. I’m really disappointed in the service and the food here, given I have so enjoyed myself in Tainan and have received great service...

I had one portion of fried prawn roll, braised egg and a fish and prawn ball combo soup. The fish-prawn ball soup was my favorite. And maybe fish balls were top of my list. The prawn roll was nice, filling is well seasoned, but I thought the skin could be slight saltier. There's sauces on the side to choose from. Nice stop after visiting...

It’s great to be back here for local Tainan food where their specialty is the shrimp rolls. We always go back to the classic dry and soup noodles followed by boiled vegetables and shrimp rolls which is a must. You won’t be able to stop at one. Overall simple but...
