Masala Magic Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Taipei

I am leaving Taiwan after about 5 months and my good friend, Gary, invited me to Masala Magic, one of his favorite restaurants, as a send-off.

Let me tell you, no knock on Taiwanese cuisine which I love, but Masala Magic served me a real kicking curry that put a huge smile on my face and in my belly. Very fresh and truly authentic Indian cuisine. The very smiley and warm-hearted waiter asked us about our spice tolerance level and we chose medium which was very palatable. The rice was excellent, along with excellent naan, salad annd soup, all at a lunch special price.

The restaurant itself is spacious, impeccably clean, adorned with nice artwork tastefully displayed.

I had this restaurant recommended by a few friends independently. And after 3 years of trying to find a good Indian restaurant in Taipei I didn't have high hopes...too often it is average quality and overpriced.

Tonight I did a take away form Masala Magic - samosas, paneer butter masala and a garlic naan... and it was AMAZING! Hands down, the best Indian food I have eaten in this country! I noticed that this place opened, and loving Indian food, I had to try! I went in knowing I wanted a lamb dish, so I asked for their recommendations. The boss recommended the Mutton Mass and it didn't disappoint! It was super flavorful with just enough spice. They even gave me a container with extra spice if I needed it, which was very nice (and I did use it). I ordered a garlic naan as well and the portion size was great.
