New steak restaurant in Taoyuan Arts District. A lot of Taiwanese steak restaurants are not quite up to par compared to their Western big city counterparts, so we've decided to try it.
I had the French onion cheese gratinee soup and scallops as appetizer. The soup was very European in taste, and both appetizers were really wonderful.
Afterwards I had the 10oz New York strip steak, and my two guests had the signature steak.
The steak was perfectly done (medium rare/3 fen) and tasted great.
Sparkling water (San Pellegrino) was offered at a flat rate of 70 NTD, which is an excellent deal.
For dessert I had the souffle with pineapple sauce. Extremely tasty.
The staff were courteous, attentive and highly professional. They didn't treat me differently because I'm a foreigner, conversed with me in Mandarin and tried to helpfully supply English answers as well when I didn't get what they were saying. Dishes were served in near perfect timing.
Prices are really, really good for what you are getting. Dishes are courses or single order.
The waiting time to get a reservation seems to be around 3 weeks right now, but you can hardly blame the restaurant for that. Also I think this situation will improve as right now the restaurant has opened only recently, so it's natural that everyone will want to try.
Suggestion for improvement: the Italian coffee drinks (e.g. Cappucino) could be a lot better. This would mean getting a real espresso machine and some staff training.

午餐點雙人套餐
餐前麵包撥開還冒著熱氣,蓬鬆柔軟很好吃。
前菜烤田螺味道一般,吃到一顆小碎砂,炙燒小卷鮮甜沒有腥味,配上鹹雞蛋感覺很下酒。
酥皮蘑菇湯濃郁,派皮分次加入後湯汁幾乎被吸光變得很稠,希望湯汁的量能再多點或者濃度調淡,洋蔥湯鋪上厚厚一層烤過的起司,甜鹹好喝。
主餐蒸烤加拿大活龍蝦&美國PRIME肋眼牛排16oz
牛排熟度點5分熟,熟度沒得挑剔,上餐貼心分成兩盤,肉香濃郁但不是腥味,表面焦脆。帶肥肉的部位附上醋漬的珠蔥很解膩,紅肉加點鹽再配上整粒的紅色胡椒,辛香料味道十足。
龍蝦除了斷面表層及關節折斷處有些乾柴,味道鮮甜,肉質彈牙,附有甲殼類海鮮專用叉子,及能黏貼在衣服上的一次性圍兜,很貼心。
配菜陳醋炒蘑菇吃得出兩種菇類的香氣,奶油甜玉米口味普通。
甜點昭和手工布丁,硬度適中,焦糖微甜不苦不膩。冰火熔岩巧克力蛋糕好濃好甜,建議搭配熱茶類飲品。
飲品熱格雷伯爵茶,現榨果汁中規中矩。
服務 留言處服務滿分給一位杜姓的女姓服務員,短髮、身形偏瘦。送餐與餐點解說音量適中、動作簡潔、態度親切,上餐及整理桌面很迅速俐落,且不忘關心客人用餐狀況。
氣氛 預定午餐最後一段餐期,90分鐘用餐時間在現場不時的叮嚀出餐時間到14:30為止,用餐時間到15:00為止,感覺非常急促,即使13:45準時入座並且在5分鐘內點好餐,到15:00為止也在75分鐘,用餐須知及人員口頭告知的90分鐘是怎麼回事?杜姓服務員親切適度的關心,有舒緩到用餐的緊張感,非常感謝她。
另外反應其他服務員在現場評論客人用餐的狀況,非常的無禮,非常的不尊重,也有失專業度。今天沒有杜姓服務員,服務完全是“0分”...
