I had to give this place one star because they drastically reduced the quality, yet decided to increase the prices instead. Some items went up by 60 NTD or more (details below).
The first time I visited, I liked this restaurant the most compared to other Indonesian places. They offered free sweet iced tea, the flavors were bold, and the portion sizes were decent (both carbs and proteins), especially considering the already high prices since it’s located in suburban Taipei, compared to another Indonesian restaurant I like in the heart of Taipei.
But slowly, they started lowering their standards. They discontinued the free iced tea and started offering just water, even though their prices weren’t cheap. They also began raising prices within short periods. The worst part was my last visit. I didn’t even want to take a picture of the dish—it looked so sad, and we were deeply disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the nasi padang (originally 190 NTD, now around 250 NTD), but the meat portion was incredibly small, almost unnoticeable! and the veggies were barely a spoonful. They raised the price by 60 NTD, but the portion wasn’t enough to fill anyone up! (By the way, my boyfriend isn’t a big eater, yet he wasn’t full.) I didn’t taste his dish, so I won’t comment on it further. I ordered the bakso sapi (meatball soup), which went from 180 NTD to 220 NTD. They reduced the number of meatballs and even removed the lettuce from the dish. To top it off, the flavor was bland! believe me, I noticed.
As for the martabak, there’s another place in Taipei that does it better, though I won’t mention the name to be fair. This restaurant’s martabak is also way too expensive compared to the other one that does it better.
Speed wise, we had to wait around 45 minutes for the first dish to arrive, and for all the dish to arrive we waited for around an hour.
This restaurant used to be my favorite. I even recommended it to friends and brought some along, I was even the one who introduced this restaurant to my influencer friends. You can see why I’m deeply disappointed. If you can’t maintain the quality you set from the beginning, why would you dare to raise your prices?
I don’t usually complain about food prices, but with the current quality, taste, price, location, not to mention the speed, I can’t...
Read moreDisappointed by the advertising. The food is mediocre at best. The service is questionable. The food takes so long, and i ordered two stuffs, and they only delivered one first, then when i said “excuse me?” (to ask if they forget i ordered two stuffs), the waiter just walk away. But their (cashier and waiter) attitude was okay. The atmosphere was no-no, long waiting line (people literally stand behind you and watching you if you sit at the window seat, and it’s very noisy. Not a comfortable place to eat. The price is also more expensive than average Indonesian restaurants in Taipei, which hard to justify the mediocre taste...
