I would give a rating of 4.5/5 stars if I could.

I came into the establishment as I saw it was well liked by customers. I was thoroughly surprised:

Food: I ordered Shaoxing Chicken Noodle Soup (it was clearly shown as recommended by the restaurant😌). The umami taste from the chicken broth felt throughout the dish. The hint of Shaoxing wine added the fragrance. The noodles were al dente. Normally in noodle soup, the noodles are soggy. I was amazed by the unique, complex taste from a simple, clear noodle soup. I never tried Century egg with Shichuan spice. Most used tofu, so I was impressed with the ingenuity and taste.

Service: I heard it gets overcrowded, so I came at a quieter time. They were ok service was acceptable, though I did see an employee not understand something on their menu. I hope the owner can retain and work on their training.

Atmosphere: it gave a fusion laid-back vibe. Food was being served, and it had a good ambiance.

I highly recommend it to foreigners or even locals who want a genuine traditional Taiwanese meal with a twist. I will probably drop by to try the other dishes....

I've been patronising this reasonably-priced shop situated nearby an arts university for many years whenever I'm at Taipei. The food is cooked on demand & it tastes so good. The soup of the day is dependent on whatever ingredients the lady boss can lay her hands on at the market. She once cooked clear mutton soup with sprinklings of chives & it was flavourful & heavenly. It had none of the lamb smell prevalent in some of the mutton soup found in Singapore. It can get crowded during meal times. Definitely...
