MiMi's Cafe — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Initially, for the prices charged, I was under the impression that the matcha au lait has pure matcha powder, the kind that has no additives. I mentioned to the clerk that I wanted the least amount of sugar possible and the least amount of ice. The matcha au lait was so bad bad bad. When I took the first sip, it was way too sweetttt. It was only until I clarified with the clerk if it was the least amount of sugar did he mention to me that the matcha powder is "naturally sweet/already has sugar." It's basically from one of those low quality packaged matcha "au lait" powders that you can get at the supermarket. At least the Pure Matcha Latte from Starbucks uses pure matcha powder.

The matcha mille crepe was not very good, either, compared to that of Lady M. The mille crepe seems to have been in the fridge for a few days and the matcha powder they use is not very high quality and the slice overall was pretty dense.

edit: it has been 1 yr since I last wrote this review and upon my return to Taipei this summer I’ve been coming back here and it’s still one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to in Taipei, never anything bad to say abt it, I love it here so much 😔❤️

one of my favorite cafes . incredibly convenient if you live in prince house. the bathroom is very clean (has 1 toilet with a seat warmer and bidet!). incredible incredible ambience; really puts you in a good mood to work or do whatever you need to do. i don't drink coffee, but i love their rooibos tea (120$ TWD). a little pricy compared to other fast food eateries in taipei, but you only need to order one thing to sit there, and it is still cheaper than most cafes in the states. their desserts are incredible (with very attractive presentation) and their sandwiches are very very yummy! so i think it is...

The moment we entered, we were immediately asked if we will order for takeout, and when we said we wanted to sit in, the female staff looked so annoyed. No greeting, no smile, no "thank you" at all.
