THE SHRINE - BAR — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

I recently visited The Shrine bar and overall had a good experience. The atmosphere was lively and the staff were all very friendly. The drink selection was impressive and I enjoyed the gin tonic I ordered - the flavors were well balanced and the gin was top quality.

However, I did have one issue that took away from my experience. The bar has a 90 minute limit on table occupancy. While I understand that this is a common practice at bars and restaurants to keep things moving and make room for other customers, it was a bit frustrating to feel rushed and have to purchase an additional drink in order to stay longer.

Aside from this issue, I would recommend The Shrine bar for a night out with friends. The drinks are tasty and the atmosphere is lively. However, be aware of the 90 minute limit if you plan on spending a longer evening...

Best cappuccino I’ve had in Taipei, artistic international atmosphere, delicious scones. This is my first visit to Taiwan and, after 2 weeks of adventure and sites, was looking for a place to relax. I was lucky to find The Shrine which just opened. The woman at the bar was super friendly and spoke perfect English which was super helpful to me and served me a delicious cinnamon cappuccino and home made scones. Mmmmm! Great music and art. Unique atmosphere....

Cool bar. Nice design. Nice drink. Nice ambiance. Always crowded at weekends.

Update: December 2021. They changed the rules. No more opening from 4pm. Minimum charge 300NT person and limited time of 2 hours.

Very disappointed. This used to be my favorite bar. They don't understand that this is how it will end. If the bar is full, let it be full. Starting these rules will drive away customers who just want a light drink than off they...
