Mayur Indian Kitchen restaurant & bar — Restaurant in Zhubei City

he food is great, and the staffs at this particular branch are wonderful, but the phone ordering system is terrible. This one of our favorable restaurant in Hsinchu. We have been ordering through phone call and store front pick up since the pandemic. Every time we called, the phone was pick up by someone at a remote location. Last time we place an order by phone, and he said we can pick it up in 20 mins. We were there about 25mins later, once we arrived  in the front door, the lady said they have too many orders and asked as to wait without asking which order we had. And we wait in the front door another 15mins, very unusual, so we asked the lady to check if our order was in the queue. Unfortunately, after another few minutes, she came back said they do not have order! “The people in Taipei did not pass the order to this store” she said. Then she took our order again and we wait another 35 mins in front of the shop. We actually waited in the store for almost 1 hour before we receive our food.

Why the phone order has to go through someone in Taipei even we call the local number with area call “03”? And, the someone have to call back to this local shop to confirm the order and call us back? Why can the local store pick up the phone and take orders directly? This may be more efficient and less error. We love this place, It will be awhile before we can dine in the restaurant because the pandemic, we will have to order through phone calls. Please change your phone...

Great Indian Food. Visited this restaurant following recommendation of my 3 Indian colleagues. Arrived during the Chinese New Year, and was happy to find this place open (unlike many other places in the area it’s open till relatively late). The decoration and atmosphere is above the average Indian places I’ve seen in the area. The restaurant is relatively large with many seating places. The menu is very versatile, offering both vegetarian, vegan and carnivore options. PAY ATTENTION: some dishes were marked as vegan although the contain yogurt (meaning they were vegetarian). Luckily, the waiter warned me so I didn’t take them. I took a kind of lentil curry as main course and a nice tofu appetizer. We also took a samosa and shared it. Food was delicious. The service was courteous, fast and efficient. Cost was a little more than the average restaurant in the area but definitely reasonable. Not impressed with the service and a very disappointing and rather aggressive attitude by the management. We ordered (amongst many other dishes) a green salad based on an image and clear description of a green salad on the menu. What we received was a plate of water cress and sweetcorn. We returned the dish to the waitress and requested the green salad again. The owner turned up 5 minutes later saying we had received exactly what we ordered and literally FORCED US TO ACCEPT the (expensive) water cress dish. This created an awkward situation amongst our dinner party where those who were insulted by the management felt we had to walk out. One of our party decided to accept the water cress dish to save the occasion from disaster, but personally I have never been treated in such a offensive manner in a restaurant.
