One Twenty-fourth — Restaurant in Zhubei City

My friend took my wife and I here for our last meal before our flight back to Los Angeles. They only have basic breakfast items and overpriced yogurt. You can try if you feel the need to experience Western breakfast that you can get on the airplane (which we did) on Unites Airlines. The quality of this store was better but it's quite overpriced.

The environment downstairs is a little chilly. Since my wife was about 4 months pregnant 🤰, it would have been nice to sit without the smoke but unfortunately the store manager with the poser North Face hat was a bit inflexible.

At first we didn't even know the upstairs was open for dining, we just wanted to check it out and I found it surprisingly more cozy. The store manager was adamant in her stance. The workers were nice enough to offer to ask again and they did so discretely but she seemed pleased with her choice.

Of course we didn't let that ruin our good time and of course we didn't clock that there were some tables still empty when we left. In fact, when the manager said there was no room, we already predicted there would be some empty tables 😅 the whole time. But we understand it is because the manager needs some peace of mind.

In the end, the nice worker tossed around the words like next time. Or if we only let them know this or that but it's like please, that's all in hindsight. We would have had no luck.

The breads are also quite sweet and we prefer savory breads with a thicker crust for some types. If it is a pineapple bread, that's fine but it was cut in half and the butter...

I ordered the pork confit with couscous and it was delicious! The pork confit was flavorful and the berry sauce was surprisingly good. The berry sauce is meant for the pork and couscous salad, which came with a variety of vegetables.

Their menu is only available in Chinese. Ordering is completed online and you have 90 minutes to enjoy your food. There is a minimum spending requirement of NT$200.
