Jiko Pizza, Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

I had the worst dining experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and completely uninterested in helping. They took forever to take my order, and when they finally did, they got it wrong.

The environment was equally disappointing. The place was filthy—tables were sticky, chairs were greasy, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. To make matters worse, there was a foul smell coming from somewhere in the restaurant, which made the whole experience even more unbearable.

The food? Absolutely terrible. It was either overcooked or undercooked, completely lacking in flavor, and arrived at the table cold. The presentation was sloppy, and I honestly questioned the freshness of the ingredients. To top it off, the portion sizes were tiny, and the prices were outrageously high for such poor quality.

When I tried to express my dissatisfaction, the staff didn’t care at all. No apology, no attempt to make things right—just indifference.

This restaurant is located inside Golden Tulip. The view is indeed stunning, but unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the food and drinks. We ordered a Tropicana pizza, a martini, and a strawberry daiquiri. The cocktails were underwhelming and lacked any garnish. Surprisingly, the daiquiri was served in a martini glass. While the pizza was decent, it didn't stand out.

Shocking food. Ordered Focaccia and we got left over warmed up, hard garlic bread pizza. The margarita pizza we got wad hard,thin round bread. The pizza was hard enough to break your teeth. Terrible food. The drinks were also questionable just stay away from pina Colada. You will get milk shakes. I have attached pictures of the focaccia and margarita pizza.
