I’ve been there before and didn’t really have a reason to write a review. It was just ok. It’s across town for me so I don’t go often. We were in the area and decided to have breakfast. We sat outside and boy was that a mistake. There were flies and bees everywhere! Nonetheless we order our food. I ordered pancakes, beef bacon, eggs, and a minty juice type beverage. The drink was unbelievably sour. They don’t put sugar in any unsweetened beverage until you tell them of your dissatisfaction, get judged by the waitress, only to have her offer you agave syrup. I added the syrup and it was much better. You’d think they’d just train them to ask you if you’d like it sweet or not but…Our food comes. She sits my pancakes down in front of me and proclaims there is no syrup but here is some butter. Ummm in what world is butter a substitute for syrup? I looked at her and said find me something to put on these pancakes or take them back. She magically appeared with some strawberry liquid and whipped cream. Why not just offer me that in the first place? I eat me food whilst the flies and bees attack me and my husband. I go to drink from my glass and there’s a bee in it. I scoop it out dry if off. It’s fluttering it’s wings, I’m feeling good. I saved a bee because you know bees have feelings to. My dumb waitress comes over and covers the bee with a napkin yell, NO! She laughs and smashes the bee we’d just worked to save. We’re officially done eating. I feel something on my leg and I jerk out of auto response to the many flies and mosquitoes that live in Dar. Well it was a bee and it stung me. We got our bill asked for ice (which she brought on a plate) asked for a takeaway cup and left. Won’t be back. The food is ok. The service sucks. I really didn't enjoy my time at Woodberry Cafe. I was a regular at Woodberry at the previous location and I even met my now husband there. This restaurant has a special place in my memories. Today I decided to have brunch with my husband in hopes of rekindling our first date. We sat in the sun room and the first thing I noticed were the dead flies on the floor. Two flies were buzzing around the room which I tolerated for a while.

We placed our order for pancakes and our drinks arrived. No issues with the drinks, I was so happy that despite change in management and location, the taste was the same. However, the flies were greatly annoying and it took 45 mins to get our pancakes. When it came they were the wrong kind of pancakes which we promptly informed the waitress about. She apologised profusely stating she had mixed it up. She was distracted, not even looking at us as she apologised and instead was looking towards other guests. She had not even written the order down when we have given it to her initially. We told her to cancel the order and paid for drinks and left.

Rather disappointing and it seems that management is not up to speed. There were only 2 waitresses serving a packed restaurant which is a rather foolish decision since Sunday brunch is when you would expect all hands on deck for customers.
