Moyo Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

I had visited the restaurant like one week before, then i recommended it for my son who wanted to spend a dinner with his friends on his birthday cause the place is good and has really nice meals. But i was terrified with the customer service attitude of the guy Eduardo when i tried to make a reservation for them. He first asked me all the details like date, no of pax, etc, which i provided. He then asked me to pay Tshs 50,000/= for table reservation which i paid. Theh he asked me to chose a sitting area between inside and by the pool which i did chose by the pool. Then some hours later after i think he got another booking he came to me with some stricter conditions, telling me that ooh i will have to put them inside and i said no! So he said he will offer the outside place but beside the pool, i said that's fine. Then he again added another restriction that each teen must spend not less than 30,000 then i said this is nonsense, you should have told me before, not after i paid and chose the place! I cannot guarantee if each of the teen will spend that amount though they might.The guy seemed not to care at all as long as he already had another booking he didnt give a damn abt my complain, he just told me, i can't off a space while i don't know how much they will spend. So i asked him to refund my advance which he did without any hesitation. That is a terrible customer care i was expecting from such a classy...

Vast improvement over the predecessor "Ray's." I was a guest at Sea Cliff Luxury Apartments when ownership of the restaurant changed hands on April 30, 2019, and was among the first guests of Moyo on May 1st.

The restaurant is open 24/7 for hotel guests. The service is attentive, if not a bit frenetic in the breakfast buffet hours. They could dial back the mopping the floor around your table as you are eating, and they could refrain from changing out place service pieces at your table while you are present. But the food more than makes up for the "over the top" service.

For dinner, try the Zanzibar Red Snapper. It is excellent. Large portion, too. If you prefer beef, the Steak and Chips is tasty, and they will let you substitute chapati for the chips, if you like.

Bar seems to be extensive, however, the wine list is limited.

The reason for four stars rather than five...the music. Although other reviewers have thought the music amazing, repetitive Bruno Mars at breakfast and hip-hop for dinner are not what hotel guests want to hear. Ray's previous manager was into Electronica/Dance/Trance. With the new decor of Moyo, this music genre is better suited than hip-hop. Would love to see that change. (I...

Ok. Seeing advertisements of this place, thinking this place would have been great at continental food & ambience as well. I was sad to be a vegetarian, 1st they have only 4 options veg dishes in their menu. 1 was Pizza which we wanted to order but it was not available, so we asked the waiter to suggest a veg dish, but he dint know any, said he will call the chef. Even the chef recommended veg curry. But then we were few of us, so we decided the leave the place. Management needs to look over the place & menu carefully. Person comes to your restaurant, understandable if you don't have an octopus dish but do have fish or prawns. But then having burgers, pizzas, or other continentals dishes but have nothing in Veg. Disappointing!
