I would rate this place negative stars if I could, but alas, one star will have to suffice in expressing my utter disdain. Where do I even begin? The service was not just bad, but monumentally atrocious. The staff, from the lowly waiter to the supposedly high-and-mighty manager, were about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
After enduring a painfully long wait just to be acknowledged, we were finally graced with the presence of a menu after what felt like an eternity. And let's not forget the grand entrance of Manager Eric, swooping in like a wounded bird to offer his hollow apologies, only to have the audacity to serve us burnt offerings that could rival charcoal briquettes.
The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the pork chops, marinated in what I can only assume was a concoction of lava and pepper. Naturally, it was promptly sent back to the kitchen faster than you can say "culinary catastrophe." And what was the response? Oh, just a casual offer to waive the bill as if that could undo the torment we endured. How utterly shameless and pathetic.
But of course, I graciously paid the bill, not out of obligation, but rather as a charitable donation to ensure the continued employment of such inept individuals. After all, someone has to foot the bill for their incompetence, and it might as well be me, the unwitting patron of this...
Read moreAfter a terrible experience at another hotel, we ended up at Delta by Marriott Dar es Salaam in the middle of the night with a group of 24 people, exhausted after three days of travel. What happened next truly restored our faith in Tanzanian hospitality.
At the reception, Geston Katomero and Joseph Mumomo were our heroes that night. They worked tirelessly for hours, well past midnight, to prepare and hand out 13 rooms for our group. Their professionalism, patience, and dedication went far beyond our expectations.
In the mornings, we were always warmly taken care of by Sia, Ana, and Josephine, who made every breakfast a pleasant and cheerful experience.
Last but not least, at the bar, Mozes always served us with a smile, creating a friendly atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable.
This team turned a disastrous night into a wonderful memory. Their kindness and effort are the true spirit of hospitality. We highly recommend Delta by Marriott Dar es Salaam — not only for its comfort, but above all for the amazing people...
Read moreDelta is not my favorite Marriott brand, so my expectations were modest — but unfortunately, I still left disappointed.||The location in Masaki is convenient, though for most visitors it doesn’t make a big difference since you won’t be walking much around the city anyway.||Although the hotel was refurbished less than two years ago, it already feels shabby. My room was clean (luckily), but clearly worn down (see photo). When I pointed this out to reception, the response I received was simply, “ah, yes, it’s like that.”||Breakfast was another letdown. The dining area is cramped, making it difficult to find a clean table. Even when one is available, tables are not thoroughly cleaned. The selection is poor, and the fruit offering was the worst I’ve seen at any hotel in Tanzania.||The gym looks good at first glance, but nearly half of the equipment is broken or faulty.||Overall, this is just a badly maintained hotel — not up to Marriott standards and not...
