My honest, detailed, most-likely long review! ⢠The food - amazing. A little cold when it arrived(expected it to be warmer since it took like 40 mins to arrive to us) but Iām not complaining since the taste compensated everything else. Portion size made my heart smileš. A solid 9/10
ā¢The drinks - Also a positive feedback from me. I enjoy āJuisi ya Miwaā so thatās what I ordered and enjoyed this specific one. They came frozen but Iāll look over that. A generous 10/10.
ā¢Customer service - I wish to speak about this in depth. I understand it might not be in āour tanzanian cultureā and this might be a new concept to many offering services/products⦠but this is definitely a big one for me. In simple terms - this restaurant has one of the WORST customer services; and I for one, isnāt the first to mention this. Infact, I was āwarnedā about this(since it was my first time). We arrived, and were ignored for like 10 mins. I understand there are busy hours but certainly not busy enough to ignore a customer for that long. After eventually getting hold of one of the staffs, We asked for the menu and were told to āCheck on Instagramāš. How convenient of them to assume that: a) We have an internet bundle š b) We have instagram. But again, I understand that they know their target market ⦠but that doesnāt mean everyone will come from that target market. A disappointed 3/10.
As previously stated, this restaurant is know for their bad customer service by most. I posted the customer service review on my socials and most got back to me with statements like: āEveryone is saying thisā. I hope this somehow gets to their management and they look for ways they can improve on this! But apart from that - Itās a lovely place, a great location, with good food overall rating - 7/10 Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn weekend evenings, this Swahili restaurant becomes a bustling hub filled with families and groups of friends. When I arrived just before 7 p.m., I found that their special biryani had already sold outāa testament to its popularity. Disappointed, I opted for the mandi instead, and it did not disappoint. Served on a massive platter, the portion was astonishingly large, and the price was incredibly low.
The atmosphere felt like that of a true local family restaurantāwarm, loud, and full of life. Despite the hustle and bustle, the waitresses moved quickly through the crowded space and remained cheerful and friendly, even to first-time guests like me.
Cash and MPESA are the only accepted forms of payment, so be sure to plan accordingly. Overall, it's an essential spot for anyone looking to experience authentic local cuisine in a vibrant, welcoming setting.
