Shukran restaurant & cafe — Restaurant in Kilimanjaro

I was staying in the East Point Hotel just across the street and was looking for some fast option to eat before my bus to Arusha. Shukran was exactly that place. A bistro where mainly the locals come for lunch, it's fast, good food for little money and you can choose what you want to have on your platter from the daily options. !!!Absolute tourist rip off!!! We came here because the Google reviews were really good and we wanted to eat at an authentic Tanzanian place. The food was nice, but the self called “manager” ripped us off with the bill. He saw two female tourists and charged us more than double the price we would’ve payed in our 4 star hotel. After calling him on it he didn’t want to budge we still paid 50000 Tsh for 2 meals and 2 drinks,because we just wanted to get out. Please...

We ate here once. We had rice with fish and rice with beef. It wasn't very good, it wasn't very bad. When we were there, the electricity went off and we ate the rest of our meal in the dark. We were with some local people who arranged the right price for us. But I wouldn't dare to go here if I wouldn't speak Swahili fluently to show that they couldn't scam us...
