Refuses to bargain with you but cheapest I've seen in Moshi overall, and I went to three other places in that area. For example, a 6-inch ebony wood (that dark/black wood) lion carving she charged me 25,000 tzs or $12.50 USD. Other places that don't list a price like Mama Africa will charge you like $35 usd for it and if you bundle with another maybe get down as low as $37 for two of them. But you have to do the whole bargaining song and dance of praising the item but say it's too expensive and give your low price and start to walk away and see what they finally compromise at. So if you don't want to bother with that, go here for Moshi souvenirs. T-shirts were $6 USD and $10 for embroidered ones. Raised reloief magnets are $4 USD each. I consider these pricy since they are usually $2 in other countries. ($1 magnets are the flat printed ones but she didn't have any of those). Very good selection of carvings and t-shirts among other souvenirs. Pay in shillings if you can, her tzs to USD conversion rate is 2000 to 1. At currently rates that's a 10% conversion fee she's taking. But that's the same for every other store that takes USD most likely. I'd rather go to the ATM and pay my bank's 3% fee to withdraw shillings. But I was lazy and in the end let her earn that conversion. Asked if I pay in credit card if she would charge it for shillings prices instead she said no, only charge in USD. She is very straight and curt with you so that would seem like being rude to some people but nbd to me. Normally I'd take a star off the review for these negatives but it's the same for all the stores around here so comparatively,...

This shop offers a vast assortment of souvenirs, gifts, and everyday items crafted by local artisans. You won't find such a wide selection in any other store in town.
I tried to capture the diversity of the products in the photographs that the store's owner, designer Sipe, kindly allowed me to take. The photos don’t do justice to the variety; you need to see all these shelves and stands in person.
Attention! According to the owners, Sipe and Isakari, all the shop's products are original, made by local artists from high-quality materials. Many other sellers steal ideas from here, copying items often using inferior materials and selling similar products at lower prices.
This is one of the few shops where you won't be pestered or pressured. However, any questions will be answered quickly and clearly. iCurio doesn't need street hawkers; it's always a pleasure to visit, spend time browsing interesting items, and choose what to buy. The...

Unfortunately an older gentleman was working (last time was a really friendly younger lady), and gave me the worst customer service I've experienced in Africa. I presented six postcards and one map to pay and he immediately told me that the cards were 1500tsh and the map 30'000tsh. I asked, as normal when purchasing a few of one item, for a reduction. He hadn't even looked at the map to see which one I had chosen. He told me the prices were fixed. Where? How? There is not a single price mentioned or stated on anything, anywhere in the shop. "if you don't like it you can put them back and leave". I promptly went down the street when a much friendly store was able to assist me and I ended up evening purchasing a few souvenirs more! He lost a good sale... There is so much option in Moshi for tourist stuff anyways I certainly won't...
