EDDO’S BURGER POINTS - MOSHI — Restaurant in Kilimanjaro

Eddo’s is a good and beautiful place right in the center of Moshi. They serve tasty food. My favorite dish is fried fish with vegetables.

They play pleasant pop music known worldwide, which sets the restaurant apart from other places in Moshi where awful Bongo Flava music is blaring.

I should also mention the delicious freshly squeezed juices from the pink stall next to the main dining area.

There is a problem with the waiters. They are very slow and, more importantly, cheat customers by bringing bills with amounts higher than what you should pay. Be cautious, check your bills, and compare them with the menu.

In April of this year, instead of 37,000 TSh, we were given a handwritten bill for 54,000 TSh. The difference was 17,000 TSh (6.3 USD). This is a lot even for Moshi. Usually, waiters in Moshi cafes cheat not more than 5,000 TSh (about 2 USD).

After getting a false handwritten bill for 54,000. I asked for a detailed breakdown, and they brought a bill for 49,000 (as shown in the photo). As you can see, the first item is fish (samaki) priced higher than on the menu. I refused to pay again and recalculated based on the menu myself. It turned out to be only 37,000. That's what I paid.

These waiters might no longer work there. But I’ve heard stories from other people, local residents, about "changing" prices at Eddo’s. So, make sure to carefully check the bills...

This place could be a gold mine, the food was quite good too. The portion I could eat, ordering here is nearly impossible, if you don't speak Swahili.

However, this large establishment appears almost empty. Most locals can't afford to eat here, and it apprars they want to drive foreigners away as quickly as possible.

Being the only customer that appeared to order food, there was still no expediancy. 45 minutes or so....... I think.
