One fine day at X Beef Ayutthaya We have aimed to to try a beef burger and beef at this beef specialty and chic reataurant for quite a while, since we live in Bangkok We ordered truffle beef burger, black pepper steak, and garden salad. Additinally, the resraurant has a dish promotion, which is spicy beef salad if you reveiw in google. The price is not so expensive affordable if you want a good beef steak dish. The restaurant is neat and service is superb.

I had read the reviews and went with a pretty high expectation. As it turns out, the steaks weren’t great. All steaks are frozen, even the so-called 30-day dry-aged beef. Choices were more limited than what are on the menu. A little disappointed with steaks, we went with the beef ribs bourguignon. What we got was anything but beef bourguignon. As you can see from the photo, there was little to no sauce. The beef rib was falling-off-the-bone tender which was nice, but without the sauce the dish wasn’t very tasty We had much better luck with grilled beef tongue which was fragrant and just perfectly done. The picked yolk sauce was rich and tasty. Pickled wasabi sauce was also a nice match with the beef tongue. Another good dish was stir-fried beef with holy basils (Phad Kaprao). The service and the atmosphere was good. There was live music when we were there Overall, i would not recommend this place to any friends who are particular about their beef. Other dishes are quite good

All steaks are over cooked. 5 of us from Bangkok went to Ayutthaya for lunch at X Beef today. I was lucky that I didn’t set any expectation. Let me give option on each dish here: 1. Grilled beef with “Jaew” (Thai dipping sauce in north-eastern style) 129 THB - I was surprised on how hard, cold and thin they are, like you’re chewing rubber band! 2. Buttery fried corn and bacon 79 THB - This is the best dish today. Served hot, nice smell and taste. Highly recommend if you’re here :) 3. Australian Tenderloin Steak (285 THB/100 grams) - Two steaks were overcooked (medium-rare >> medium-well done) 4. Australian Ribeye Steak (195 THB/100 grams) - All 3 steaks were overcooked, one of them was the worst, super well done. Conclusion: Price, ingredient quality, freshness and service are good. Chef was offering to replace one of the dish for us but we said no. How the beef are cooked? - a big improvement is needed urgently if you wanted to be in this business.

Hard to rate this restaurant. When I was there I wanted to order a beef burger. Nothing unusual for a restaurant with the name X Beef, right? Unfortunately the waitress mentioned that they are out of beef. How can a restaurant with the name X Beef be out of beef? In the end I had a different burger which was tasty but pricey. I give 3 stars because the burger was fine for Thai standards, but the service was bad and the price not worth it. If you are desperately looking for western food, you won’t be too disappointed though.

We have been enjoying good steaks, fish and burgers here a few times where 1st time was the best just after opening. Then the quality just descended since then, and this time the salmon steak and burger beef was not fresh or tender. Even the burger bun was dry and hard… sorry to say, bur the German beer was the top of the evening. Compared to the price the food should have more attention which is expected a place like this. Unfortunately we will not come back in the near future.
