Devilish Smokin' BBQ Shed + Burgers (Sukhumvit 101/1) — Restaurant in Bang Chak Subdistrict

The lunch special lamb Shephard's pie was very tasty. It was loaded with cheese and baked in an individual glass casserole dish. This is a perfect lowercarb option as it is not an actual pie with crust (it does have mash, however). The side salad served with the meal was of the quality you may receive in fine dining establishment.

Salad of mixed greens (including arugula) with julienne carrot, red onion, sliced beets, thinly sliced cucumber, balsamic vinaigrette (perfectly/lightly dressed). I wanted to order half rack ribs lunch special, but they were out of ribs from yesterday, so I could not order it. Also, of the four pies on the daily board, only the Shephard's pie was available.

Upon reflection, their specials may be quite limited for lunchtime if they sell a lot of barbecue the day before. I was the only diner in the restaurant for lunch, and they seem to prioritize for dinner service. On the day I was in, I was told by my server that ribs would not be ready until 5 pm. I am not sure when other barbecue meats are available.

Also, upon reflection, there are many reviews that mention a salad bar (from 5 years ago or more). Salad bar no longer exists to the best of my knowledge.

Lastly, I was able to eventually use their wifi, but it took the server about a half hour to figure out the network and password. In spite of the high rating (I will provide 4.5 stars for the food I was served) I do not know that I would return because even after dining here I have more questions and uncertainty than I came with.

Suggestions for improvements: Remove the specials from your chalkboard if they are not available that day. Provide a printout for staff so they know the wifi network & password for...

Devilish is a wonderful restaurant with its faults at least in my experience. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu that caters to many tastes, ambiance styles. Price is VERY worth for quality received. I had the Blue Bacon, a perfectly sized (though large compared to the average fast food) burger. The buns were definitely great but not amazing, in contrast to this everything else within was cooked to perfection. However, at least, in my experience, the service was very slow. Whether or not that is due to the amount of people or the “rumor” that the restaurant had one broken grill, I waited an hour for a burger and another half for a pizza. Let me speak of the pizza. I order the BBQ carnivore deluxe. Partially my error to not read the components of the face, but I did not expect tough pulled pork and crispy pork belly slathered with bbq sauce. This pizza is utter garbage. I asked for a pizza that had chorizos and this one sounded most appetizing. The pizza had no chorizos for one, and they had failed to inform me so and in the waiter’s own word (paraphrased to English), “The chef probably ran out of it and so threw everything else on there.” Least to say I was not impressed after waiting for such a duration. The crust and cheese were good at the very least I must admit, but everything else upon it was a disaster. Do not order this pizza. WARNING to all who come in a bigger group over 6. We came in expecting to eat lots of meat and drink, overall a good time. Left feeling disappointed, cheated and discriminated.

The Thai waiter was so welcoming until he went to talk to the (caucasian) boss, swear he gave us a once over and then the waiter came back with the bad news. He informed us that over 6 people group MUST take the “Set menu” which is require that each of us pay 680 baht. We tried to compromise and say then can we see this “set menu”…surprise surprise they did not provide to us ^_^ . Informing us this “special” rule was mentioned on their website(°▽°)？ We asked so it is a buffet then?, he replied no that it was a semi-buffet (never heard of that in my life, maybe it’s an American thing).

Funny part was if they would’ve let us sit and maybe just say they require for us to order over a certain amount (which we probably would…this is 9 empty stomach we’re talking about), all would’ve been well. Instead all of us walked out feeling more disappointed than sad, as the food and good reviews raise our expectations so high only to crash it down with questionable management.
