Kouen Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Bang Kaeo Town Municipality

I had one of the most disappointing service experiences at a restaurant in Thailand. I visited with my partner, who is in a wheelchair following surgery. While we were initially told we could be seated, we were assigned a table two away from the entrance, despite several empty tables closer. We requested to move to a more accessible spot, as it was challenging for her to maneuver the wheelchair and elevate her leg on another chair for comfort. Unfortunately, the staff cited walkway obstruction as a reason for not accommodating our request, demonstrating a lack of empathy and customer service.

Throughout our visit, the servers appeared disengaged, with few smiles and an overall sense of dissatisfaction that suggested they might be underpaid. As it was a buffet-style restaurant, it took a long time for our filled plates to be cleared, even though the restaurant was only half full.

On a positive note, the food was generally good and fresh, particularly the raw sushi. However, the cooked items did not stand out, and the desserts were mediocre at best. While there were free-flow drinks available, I doubt I'll return. At 599 baht, the price is competitive with other seafood buffets offering better service, making it hard to recommend this place given...

I was not impressed with Kouen at Mega Bangna. The food was far from the menu pictures. I opt 699 Baht (the second cheapest one, net around 8xx Baht), the quality of food was not good at all comparing to the price. I can have a lot better quality Sushi and Sashimi at the price I paid. To be honest, the quality is like a low-end buffet - like 299 or 399 Baht. Additionally, the service was very very slow - unacceptable. Buffet lovers will know that the service speed is very important for eating buffet - I was not so sure that it was the restaurant's strategy or not. Overall, I was not enjoyed at all with everything. Great food and a lot of selection. We took the 999THB option which was very good. The lower priced option would have been good enough, but with this option you got several options of beef dishes and more options for sashimi. You order anything you want from own phone which was very easy. However, a few negatives are that the pictures shows maybe two or four sushi's but when ordering they don't count plate as in the picture but single sushi's. This combined with not too quick service made it take some time to get all the food we expected. Poor information from staff of how it works or what is included. Beer is included in the 999thb...
