KAYS ESPRESSO BAR — Restaurant in Chanthaburi Province

Bad service. Waiters are slow and not attentive. They are too busy chatting with each other, joking around, and going behind the counter to drink their own drinks instead of ensuring the food gets to the table in a timely manner. The loud noise in the bar is from the staff talking and playing.

When trying to order food, the waiter tried to have us order something that did not require much preparation. It took 15 minutes just to get jam, which is ready made and poured from a bottle, so my friend had to send back the croissant she had because it got cold. Simply reheating the croissant took too long. By the time the waffle was brought to the table, it was cold. The menu states it will take 10-20 minutes to prepare the butter toast, but actually it took about 30 minutes. At least the toast was warm when I received it.

We went in the morning and there was only one other group of customers. The design of the place is very nice, but I will not come back because of the workers' unprofessional behavior. The customer is not the priority but the staff enjoying themselves is what matters the most to them. I hope the owner reviews the security camera footage from the camera in the bar to see how the employees behave in what appears to be a classy establishment where the staff act like...

From espresso to food, only disappointment. Ordered a double espresso, got a single, asked 2 servers about it and both said it was a double, even though it was clearly less than 2. A minute amount. Perhaps what they call a shot is way different than what I'm used to. Ordered a waffle, got the wrong one, and it was only half a waffle instead of full, so, yea. Butter was so hard I couldn't cut or use it- on all 3 of our dishes. I had also ordered a pancake, but it came at least 20 minutes after I finished the waffle. I assumed it wasn't coming and had been ready to leave, up at the counter trying to pay, when I looked back and saw it being set at my table.

For so little drink and food, the cost was extreme. I didn't quite realize this was for rich people who want to snack on sweets and tiny sips of coffee while they do business or cave in to a craving. Not a place to get some breakfast, as I was expecting.

BUT, if money is no object and you're not looking for real food, then this is a nice place for business...

Don't think Bangkok has all of the answers a for good coffee and delicious desert.

The restaurant is well designed, it is spacious has an indoor and outdoor area. Inside it's very cozy, food, drink, and desert are made from high quality ingredients and damn they are good! Staying here for a week for sure my family and I would gain a few pounds. The price is very reasonable for this level of quality.

Now...the restroom is GIGANTIC, it very beautiful and clean very spacious. It maybe bigger than the cafe upfront and it's aircon!
